Over the next few years many coaches were added to the fleet and in 1980 the business acquired new premises in St James Mill Road, Northampton where it still operates from today. The 1980's were a time of maximum growth for Country Lion and included the branching out into self drive hire, providing a range of cars, trucks, vans and mini buses. With a private hire fleet of 40+ coaches, and 100 self drive hire vehicles, the business has continued to expand throughout the years, and has travelled a long way since the early days in reputation as well as in miles.

In April 2006 further expansion took place when Cloud Nine Holidays was acquired, which specialises in holidays for the over 50's.
